Adding Salt

by Dan Walker on December 05, 2018

Salt is a compound made up of about 40 percent sodium and 60 percent chloride. Sodium is an essential nutrient, but vegetables and other natural foods provide the small amounts of sodium you need in your diet. If you consume too much, it can cause water retention, and your body may respond by raising your blood pressure to push the excess fluid and salt out of your system. That is a health fact. However salt also makes things tase better and it is a great preservative.

Matthew 5:13 says “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. Salt defiantly has its place and is actually very important. that is why we are starting S.A.L.T. Groups at Alta Canyon. S.A.L.T. Groups are "Serving and Learning Together". It is our intent to spice up your life with great fellowship and Bible Study several times a month. That should also help your preserve and strengthen your spiritual growth.

S.A.L.T. Groups are also intended to "Serve". It would be great for each S.A.L.T. Group to have some kind of a service project that they work on. You might want to adopt teachers at Alta High and make small thank you gifts for them. Perhaps find a way to minister to people in Alta Hospital. Just think together as a S.A.L.T. Group and come up with a creative way to serve. You will really be blessed and you will keep your saltiness.
